k1LL3r7 Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 I just got a new HO alt from excessive amperage, before i installed it I decided to get it tested at autozone. It says 15.74v, I contacted Nate to ask him about the 2 fail's I received. He says that the computer should regulate the voltage, and it will be okay to install. I plan on installing it since he said it should be good, but im wondering are there any problems I might encounter because of the high voltage? EDIT: Its rated amps is actually 200 2003 Nissan Maxima SE Pioneer avic u310bt ...coming soon

LoudBimmer Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 Problem with charging at hogh voltage is that it causes harm to batteries inside parts. Like overheating ect. But it's only for 12volt batteries

Most newer vehicles do it and settle into the 14's after a minute or two.
