Box for 2 18's

Hi, Im building a box for 2 DC lvl 4 18's but I don't have a clue to how thick of mdf I need because this is the first big and ported box I'm making, or if I go with birch, what thickness? and what type of bracing, if any, would you use? also i would like to have the box as light as possible, so any input on that would be awesome.

What kind of power will they be seeing? And your box isn't going to be light man haha. I'm about to build a box for 2 18's also but they will be seeing less power than yours most likely. But I am using 3/4" mdf all around, a double baffle (1.5" of mdf). I will brace it internally with all thread, or wooden dowels, I havnt decided yet. And I am also going to resin all the corners inside of the box. 18"s need a ton of airspace, so that makes one big ass hallow box, bracing is important.

What vehicle is this going into? (sorry if it's in your sig, I am on my phone so I can't see it)

Birch is more expensive then mdf, but you'll be making a lighter box. just use 3/4" birch and double up the baffles throw some glass on the inside corners and some 2x4 bracing or all thread and you'll be good, for 2 18s though, you'll definitely want some sort of bracing.

Yea, initially I was going to do a 1 inch fully fiberglassed inside with a double baffle, And this is going into an 02 4runner, and ill be using the dc 5k, I'm still in the planning process of this.

Yea, with that kind of power your going to need a very rigid box, losts of bracing on the inside, I'd def glass the inside seams if I were you.
