TheSargSter
Hey guys, i have a few questions Currently running 2 lvl 3 12's on an AQ 2200D. Im ready to start planning / working toward my next setup. Everybody and there mother that i know screams in my face to go with 15's, or a single 18... something large in size with alot of power. Well, im in the mood to shock some people, turn some heads and make people wow over some small subs. Unfortunately, due to limited space in the back of my HHR, i dont have 'A-lot' of room. Being that im still in warranty with Chevy, i have no intentions on ripping out interior pieces. A friend of mine that is quite knowledgeable with designing enclosures and myself were playing with Sketchup last night, and according to my measurements and specs of the DC lvl2 8's, or SA 8's, i could easily install eight of them without issue.. I would of course worry about powering them once i get the real math figured out. I want to go all out. Ive been wanting to rebuild my 12's for some time.. just to do it.. So here are my questions seeing as i want to take it a bit further this time. Seeing as that i can fit 8 8's, and have intention on taking that route.. What are the possibilities of nit picking hard/soft DC parts and building a 'custom' level 3 8 with a 3 inch coil over the 2? Is it possible? If so.. i want to make it happen.. Otherwise, it will be the battle of going with either the SA 8's, or the lvl 2 8's. Let me know your thoughts everyone.. Thanks! TheSargSter
Haha. So, is assembling a level 3 8 possible? not yet . sorry i misread that . Erm. I shall do some research. I just figured out ive got enough space to build a box with aero's to do 8 10's, i think 8 level 4's would do me quite well. Anyone trying to get rid of an AQ20? lol Quote SARG ---------------------------- 2011 Chevy HHR LT Pioneer AVH-P3300 2x Sundown SA-12's AudioQue 2200 @ .5 Kicker ZX 350.4 Kicker DS 65.2 Components (Front) Kicker KS 65 2-Way's (Rear) KnuKonceptz 0/1 BIG 3 Upgrade 2x Delco MFD 100W-H Batteries + Kinetic HC600
dwright27
No. The coil takes up to much of the spider limiting the excursion which in turn recurs thermal power handling and wouldn't work well. I was already thinking if this. Only option is to use a different basket with a 9 - 10" spider landing. Quote 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L.
