datmexicankid
i know this topic is kinda beating to death butt wouldnt it be better to mount subs inverted simply because there would be better air flow in the box?
big dee
No it will ad a tad more air space. I've run a few diffrrnt systems with inverted subs. The last was a solo x 18. And it was a night an day difference inverted versus regular mounting. Just try it and see what it does. If you don't like it or if they don't sound better. Just flip dem bitches back around. Some times it makes no difference by ear. But depending on what subs you have it can look more aggressive! Lol I've got a video or two of my system on youtube running a inverted solo x 18. The channels. Bigdee2189

big dee
Yea there's alot of things that come in to play that effect the way some subs perform inverted. The motors stay cooler inverted I believe.

RooTxBeeR
Like everyone has said, it is different. In sealed boxes it does help because it allows the motor to be outside and possibly have better cooling than being stuck in the same box for weeks on end. The sub shape and features can effect it's sound because the Basket mounts and what not. I ran my 2 10's on my old prefab box inverted and they where great, right now I have a custom box with one sub normal one sub inverted. Did this because I had no other way to create a box with 1 sheet of MDF and make the box tuned to what I wanted to if I did it differently.
