BlockShaker Posted November 6, 2007 Report Share Posted November 6, 2007 I'm about to replace the factory radio in a Lexus IS300 with an aftermarket one and was wondering if anyone on here has done so as well. I found the dash kit for it, but I can't find a wiring harness. It seems to have a premium sound system. I've never worked on a Lexus IS300 before. roscoe1129 Posted November 6, 2007 Report Share Posted November 6, 2007 ITs much like my benz where your gonna have to check the impedance of the speakers first cuzz they are probably bose and have a low impedance (some are .5ohms). If thats the case your gonna have to replace the factory speaks with aftermarket and run wire. If not (4ohm min) just bypass the factory amp (run wire from the head unit to the ouput plug of the amp) popping the speakers with a battery to find which wire goes to what...... I'm going to do that car during Thanksgiving break where I will only have a day or two to do it. Thanks for the quick response.
