Stephen Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 thanks! i had to sand the port down with a belt sander. dont have a table router to use. and didnt wanna mess with a hand router. probably the trickiest part so far. you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be. DC POWER

Are there any links to doing that? ok newbie questions overwith... i dont HAVE to build a new box. just choosing to lil experimentation for better sound. but yeah...i coulda used a guide and all that (given that my cuts were EXACTLY straight as to not curve in or out of the port). but the side that the router is on in my garage is cluttered to hell. and i didnt feel like fishing around and getting the router out and all that, even tho i will have to in order to cut the holes. and on top of that i'm not sure if i had the right bit for it. so i just used a belt sander instead since it was right next to me. then smoothed it out. wasnt too hard, just makin sure it was equal all around was kinda tricky. but it's all good.

Couldn't you just put a jig on the box and use that as a guide? hmmm...i think you're talkin about a different tool than i'm thinkin. clamping a straight edge to the box? that might've worked too, but i felt more comfortable with the sander. gave me more control and the price for error is less. cant gouge the wood with a sander like you can with a router
