D-train-13k
im thinking about selling my crecendo bc2k to someone and switching to a DC2k or a 3.5K money is pretty tight so i was wondering how much power will the 2.0k push at 15 volts and wired to .5ohm. i have a 270 amp alt from mechman and d3400 in the back with an optima yellow top up front. i know its not dead accurate but im only getting 1900 rms out of my crecendo. i know its supposed to do rated but im thinking that my head unit could be clipping the signal and thats why it scoped so low. but anyways. how much power gain do yall think ill be getting? im hoping for around 2500rms. if not then ill probly save up for the 3.5k Edit: the crecendo is only at 14 volts and drops to about 13.5 so the 2.0k will be on higher voltage when i get the regulator from mechman Edited October 13, 2011 by D-train-13k Quote The IrishmanCheck out my build hereXL 4th order wall build logIn Progress:alpine cda HU4th order Bandpass2xl 15's1- ab 400.1 (gonna be two hopefully)4- Crescendo 8's2- xts crecendo supertweeters 2 sq super tweetsMb quart 4.125Mechman 270a alt1- xs D27003- xs XP3000 4- odessey pc1700seller feed back threadhttp://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/136418-d-train-13k/

D-train-13k
its wired to .5 ohm and i only have .5 ohm of rise max. the box peak is at 33Hz so its holding good power on the low end. most power i saw was around 1890rms when i clamped it. speedball1978
Ok if it drops to 13.5v then 1900 is about right its rated 2000@ 13.8.........so in common sense if your loading at 1 ohm then that amp is pretty much dead. On but with rise. It will play a crucial roll..... so do some more testing and order the smd dd-1 and you should see better results
speedball1978
Ok yea you need to check how much rise you are getting first
D-train-13k
well im hoping to get more power out of it. i want at least 2500 and idk if that bc 2k will give that. im not downing the amp or anything. its pretty strong. it never gets warm or anything so im not selling it out of disappointment thats for sure Quote The IrishmanCheck out my build hereXL 4th order wall build logIn Progress:alpine cda HU4th order Bandpass2xl 15's1- ab 400.1 (gonna be two hopefully)4- Crescendo 8's2- xts crecendo supertweeters 2 sq super tweetsMb quart 4.125Mechman 270a alt1- xs D27003- xs XP3000 4- odessey pc1700seller feed back threadhttp://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/136418-d-train-13k/

D-train-13k
4th order 2:1 ratio with two 12's about 4.5 cubes net the most rise i got was to 1.09 ohms Quote The IrishmanCheck out my build hereXL 4th order wall build logIn Progress:alpine cda HU4th order Bandpass2xl 15's1- ab 400.1 (gonna be two hopefully)4- Crescendo 8's2- xts crecendo supertweeters 2 sq super tweetsMb quart 4.125Mechman 270a alt1- xs D27003- xs XP3000 4- odessey pc1700seller feed back threadhttp://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/136418-d-train-13k/
TeamHT
I don't see the point in switching to the DC 2.0, unless you prefer the emblem on the amp to say DC 2.0. Even if you get your full 2,000...2,100...hell, even 2,200 it is not going to be an audible difference. Upgrading to the 3.5 is obviously a different story. But if money truly is an issue, as stated, are you willing to spend just as much on electrical upgrades to supply properly the demand? Quote Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you? speedball1978
Yep theres your answer 1.09 ohm will definitely not give you 2500 load the amp at. 25 then maybe you'll see 2500
