im thinking about selling my crecendo bc2k to someone and switching to a DC2k or a 3.5K money is pretty tight so i was wondering how much power will the 2.0k push at 15 volts and wired to .5ohm.

i have a 270 amp alt from mechman and d3400 in the back with an optima yellow top up front.

i know its not dead accurate but im only getting 1900 rms out of my crecendo. i know its supposed to do rated but im thinking that my head unit could be clipping the signal and thats why it scoped so low.

but anyways. how much power gain do yall think ill be getting? im hoping for around 2500rms. if not then ill probly save up for the 3.5k

Edit: the crecendo is only at 14 volts and drops to about 13.5 so the 2.0k will be on higher voltage when i get the regulator from mechman

its wired to .5 ohm and i only have .5 ohm of rise max. the box peak is at 33Hz so its holding good power on the low end.

most power i saw was around 1890rms when i clamped it.

I don't see the point in switching to the DC 2.0, unless you prefer the emblem on the amp to say DC 2.0. Even if you get your full 2,000...2,100...hell, even 2,200 it is not going to be an audible difference.

Upgrading to the 3.5 is obviously a different story. But if money truly is an issue, as stated, are you willing to spend just as much on electrical upgrades to supply properly the demand?

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
