FreekDesignz
I need an answer before tomorrow. I own a Craftsman DTY 4000 lawn mower. Since winter is on it's way I took the mower deck off which gave me around 8"-10" more ground clearance. I then was in need of some more speed, instead of the stock 5.3mph. I changed the rear axle pulley from the stock 8" to an aftermarket 3.5" belt pulley. I forgot about buying a new belt when I got the smaller pulley. The belt is designed for an 8" pulley and I have a 3.5" pulley. The stock belt is 94.75" long. I NEED to know what size belt I have to buy in order fit the new 3.5" pulley and keep the same amount tension I had before the swap. Please help! FreekDesignz
Get a piece of string and loop it from pulley to pulley... Then take the string off and measure. Done. That makes way to much sence. I should have thought of that. blownengine
Did you take the deck off and put on a new pulley for a reason? Do you use it to plow? FreekDesignz
Did you take the deck off and put on a new pulley for a reason? Do you use it to plow? I just took the deck off to shed some weight and gain ground clearance. Reason I put a new pulley on is for more speed/fun. It's like buying a supercar, sure it can go 180+mph, but actully doing 180 for an extended period of time is not something most ppl do.
