zayres29
my polk audio mm6x9s sounded great when i had them but im with everyone else you will be better off getting a 6.5 comp set with an adapter plate to fit the 6x9 opening Quote Btw that was the first person. Ever banned by me while dropping a deuce. Feel privileged
Joe X
My point is that 6.5" components lack midbass, the only components that really sound great are those with 7"-8" midbass drivers. 6x9s give great midbass, if you are not a SQ guy you not be bothered by their sound at all. Sanitarium you should try Focal 6x9s
pitbullninja
I want loud and good sounding. I thought 6x9s were that.. Well what would you recommend?

Sanitarium you should try Focal 6x9s I have heard focal 6x9's. and for 6x9's they sound great. but put them up against any good set of components in that price range and they turn to shit. And you don't know much about midbass if you think 6.5" comps lack midbass... phasing is the killing factor most of the time, not size. Joe X
I have tried a few of them away from a car environment in big enclosures, many people use midbass drivers with comps help this.
Nine8SST
6x9s have better midbass than any 6.5" components. And sound plenty well for the price. Now if you are a rich audiophile you can buy a nice $1000+ dynaudio 3 way component set for your doors, better than 6x9s for sure. No offense, but you're giving bad info here.
