seb43 Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 Hi guys , something wrong with my amp atm . I just set my gain at 34,64 v on my aq1200d . 1ohm X 1200 root = 34,64 volt . My voltage is at 14v on the volt meter . Bass boost on the amp is 0 , lpf and subsonic set . All the setting on my hu is at 0 , except hpf at 100 . The volume is at 46 on 62 . My remote bass remote is on max . I'm sure i'm not getting all the power i can't . I doesn't sound like 1100-1200 rms at all (with my 2 sa'12 ) . The box is nicely done at 30 hz . The only thing I can think is how i wired my sub . I only connect 2 wire in the 4 terminal on my amp . Like 1+ and 1- . I followed this tutorial : . Sorry for my bad english . seb43 Posted October 18, 2011 Author Report Posted October 18, 2011 Just one thing also . When I use my ddm and set it to the ohm section on 200 and put it on each wire that goes on my amp i got 0.3 reading ??
ChevyBoy95 Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 The way you set the gains isn't the best way at all IMO. And some amps that are 1 channel have two + and - for ease of wiring ( so if there is a few subs on it you don't have to cram 6 wires in one hole. Both + and - are internally connected( when I say this I mean both + are connected but separate from the two - that are also connected to each other), you can use 1 or both and you will get the same ohm load and power. Are you sure the subs are wired to 1 ohm? seb43 Posted October 18, 2011 Author Report Posted October 18, 2011 Yea i'm pretty sure . But when i test with the dmm it tell me .3 . It should be arroud 1 . And what the other solution to set the gain ? btw i have an pioneer deh-4200ub hu

I don't want to sound like a broken record but and oscope or the dd1 is the only real way to do it.
