Couple of box ?'s

Are there any advantages to flush mounting a sub? Is it purely for looks? How many watts or what size box before bracing is needed? 3/4" birch would be the equivalent to what in MDF? Which is better oak or birch?

flush mount is just for looks and im pretty sure oak is stronger than birch not 100% sure though

edit** flush mount also helps with bracing seeing as it is another piece of wood on the front

there isnt any acoustical difference in any of those types of wood u mentioned

according to the dB gains thread, flush mount does gain a little bit. i dont think theres any set guidelines to bracing but brace it as much as you possible. birch is slightly stronger than mdf but idk how the stiffness translates to thickness differences.
