takenotes101
I have a mechman 250 alt, big three, but stock battery. When I start my car, my voltage jumps really high, about to 15.5 even 16 or a tad more. Eventually, it will drop down to 14.8 or so, but will never really sit at 14.4. When im driving I also see it spike back up to 15-16 volts. I have seen some corrosion on my negative terminal so I clean it up and then a week or 2 later it has more corrosion on it. What do you guys think the problem is? bad battery or a bad voltage regulator in the alt?
blownengine
If the car is cold it's normal for your voltage to be higher but it should come back down into the 14's. 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT (Yea its got a Hemi)Alpine CDA-105KnuKonceptz 0ga CCA Big 3 with Yellow Top 15" SoundQubed HDC3DC Audio 1.2K (Bass)Pioneer 6x9's (Front)Pioneer 6.5's (Rear)Kicker 3.5's (Dash)Sony amp on the highs.
