kickass audio Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 I had RAM designs on here make me a box design for my smd 18 and i love how it turned out. It is a 5.5 cubic foot net box (includes the box size lost from the port) and is tuned to 30Hz. It is 32 inches wide, 23.5" deep, and 18 3/4 high. It fits in the back of my 2004 GMC envoy without any problems except for when i mounted my amps on the box. When i mounted my amps it stopped me from putting the rear seats up and locking them in place because the amps stick an extra 5 inches from the box itself but it works perfectly. I know the depth of the box is more than you measured but what kind of a vehicle is this going into? Also, What kind of power are you throwing at the sub? I have well over 5kw of power going to my single smd at .5 ohms nominal and it loves every minute of it. Also my box is a sub+port back setup and the side the sub and port come out is 1.5" thick so it supports the smds weight like a champ and it has two 1" wooden dowels inside it to brace the top and bottom. The port is also braced with 1" wooden dowels.
