DavidPeck
I am doing a motor swap to a 88 crx with a K24a2 within the next couple of months and need to know what would be important to change in the top and bottom end since i will have a turbo and nitrous soon after. SR20DAZE
If you have to ask then you need to reaserch more. I dont want to sound like a ass but its true, do lottttsss of reaserch. I know the k series dosent fit too snug to begin with on a crx cause of the small bay The tune on the ecu needs to be done right or else detonantion will happen and blow the motor.ive done a b16a on a 97 coupe on a t3/4 turbo and doing 267 hp on stock internals and conservative tune. The tune took us days to dial in perfectly. If i were you i would look for a reputable person or shop that can tune your ecu maps and read on honda forums about building a k24. Its not as easy as slap on parts and try to go fast. Sure it will work..... For a bit till all hell breaks loose and blows Quote Hahah damn cody She ain't that sexy. I wouldn't even let her blow me. SR20DAZE
Depending on how much spray and boost you want to run you could run stock and just redo a ecu map and step colder on the spark plugs. DavidPeck
I am more than likely not doing nitrous and keep it just as a daily driver.. DavidPeck
Ive done a few swaps but never messed with the k series. i did a b16 in a 99 civic that had a t3 turbonetics turbo and a d16y8 with the t3 in a crx. but besides b and d series i havent done much. jconnway
http://www.k20a.org/forum/index.php go here, stop being a noob and search relax he was asking a question. so you stop being a noob. anyway i have a k24a8 and let me tell you shes a pain in the ass. NO WAY I'd consider turbo, simply because the ECU is too damn tough and I don't feel the swap mindset coming on anytime soon. However, there are a ton of upgrades you can do and keep it all motor. I did injectors, intake, exhaust, pulleys, fuel rail and a standalone a/f computer and my car hauls ass. Especially for having alot of weight in stereo Quote Full Pioneer Build 4 Per Door - Front Door Build Up
teardrop
its very expensive and difficult to do a turbo on a non turbo car you have to change alot of parts and electronics to do it just buy a stock turbo car and start there hell ill sell ya a turbo 94 eclipse gsx awd with a 90 6 bolt swap in it does around 450 to the wheels good starter car for hp and drag racing pluss iv done most of the work for you all ready motors built to handle 700+ hp lol
Blackedout
I'd go with I/H/E, cam, tune, on the bottle. That alone should get that light ass Crx moving. N/A is the most reliable :-) Quote Trunk Build Log
