JustinWillmon Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 Hey guys, this summer i had plans to do a blow through in my 2004 dodge ram 1500. I got a design for a 4th order for 4 15" DV Level 4. Well i never got around to it this summer and when college started back up my truck has kinda taken a back seat until this weekend. I installed my Pionner AVIC z130BT and HAT imagines in the door with a JL 650/4 (still have one set to add in the Kick panels). But that got me to thinking about the blow through i planned, I was thinking instead of the 4 15's why not just go with 4 18's instead? But my first concern is does anyone know if an 18" sub will have enough room (height wise) to fit in the bed of my truck. Does anyone know if 18's are possible in the bed? I thought i saw a build with 18's in the bed but i may be making that up. I currently have a sundown saz-2500 and by going with either the 15 or 1800 i defintely want a bigger amp, but if i could just run one amp that would be nice. I guess i could add another saz-2500 if nothing else, but i was thinking something in the 6-8k watt range. Obviously i know my electrical will need to be upgraded, amp, batteries etc. If i was to run 4 of the 15's or 18's how many batteries and runs of 0 gauge would you run to the back? Im just trung to decide what direction i want to go as it has been to long since ive had bass in my truck, so im basically just brain storming. So any suggestions on what i should do?

Blue Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 K, just measured my dads 03 laramine and from the top of the bed rail to the top of grove in the bed you have 19" to 19.25". So it depends on what way your going to go on the tanue (sp). If its going to be one that raised in the center then you should be fine, but if its one that sits flush with the top of the bed, then you are stuck with running 15's I would say. formerly known as Blue86f150 its a 4th order just because its tuned in the 40z doesnt mean it wont reach down and jiggle your balls at sub 30 hz frequencies. Regardless if they were dipped platinum and were stuffed in Beyonce's twat.....way too fucking exspensive this sux camel dicks
JustinWillmon Posted October 23, 2011 Author Report Posted October 23, 2011 Thanks for the help guys, i was looking at the low profile tonneau covers but i wouldnt be opposed to a raised one either. As for the batteries i figured i would need at least 3, i already have one so looks like ill need to get 2 or 3 maybe and then the alternator. How many runs of 0 gauge is typically enough for something like this? And how the hell are people running this through their cars, i feel like with all my wires for my 4 channel amp plus my sound deadner i dont have enough room under my carpet to get it to the bed of my truck. Guess i have some planning out to do to get this thing started.
