How would you build it?

All right guys, I'm new here and didnt find a noob section so I cruised around looked at some of the builds.

Im looking to see what you guys would do and use to get the best sound system you could on a budget.

The truck I'm working with is a 2008 dodge dually with 4 mids in the doors and 3 tweeters on the dash, it doesn't have the nav bezel but thats easy to obtain. I cant loose any seating so its obvious I have to stick with a prefab box(probox,etc).

I have never built a system so this will be a learning experiance so please bear with me!

The head unit I want to use will probably be the pioneer 3300, heard great reviews on it so I figured its worth it.

Till coming to this forum I had only heard of the main stream brands (pioneer, kendwood, alpine, etc..) but i see alot of people using some brands I have never heard of. So I have a budget of $500 for subs around $500 for an amp (or 2) and around $500 for mids and highs. Tell me what y'all think would do the best for my money! Thanks in advance!

this is a pretty decent 5 channel if you wanted to go that route. but i would suggest using two amps. one for your mids and highs. and one for your subs. maybe find a decent 1200 rms subs amp like this MB quart subs amp

You don't have to stay with prefab box! That will be a mistake! You can make one easily for 2 SA-8's under those seats. Hit up ram_designs here on the forum to get a design made, he will make a sketchup of the design so you can see it and a cut sheet. If you know how to cut a piece of wood, glue and screw then you can build a box and I promise you if done right it will be the best thing that has ever happened to your system...

Thanks, this is my second cummins. I still have my 96 12v, I love them both wouldnt trade em for the world.

On the amps, def gonna do 2 amps. One for mids and highs and one for the sub. I want an amp that will make the sound great and hit hard, but I dont wanna blow em. I drive quite a bit so they will take a beating.
