reggtoby
After class today i went out and opened my trunk to grab some things. I looked at my sub and saw that there was condensation built op on the dust cap and on my amp. It snowed last night and then this morning warmed up too quick. My next paycheck I planned on putting second skin or something around in there. would that help if this were to happen again. Open to any ideas. dont want my new system going to crap so soon. If you are sure that all of your trunk seals are 100% good, you have no moisture under the mats, and nothing damp in the trunk - you could try putting some painters dessicant in there to soak up the humidity Quote ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
reggtoby
i have noticed that after putting this all together my trunk is not flush on one side anymore. Ill have to check the seals and vent tomorrow. Nothing else was wet in the trunk, like it was sweating on just the dust cap and metal top of the amp. I have not run it since. i wiped every thing off and hoping it wont do it till i get some time to look at it.
reggtoby
I checked the vent on driver side its fine. the issue i found is, the back part of the trunk was bent in from being rear ended.. Didnt know this at all. so the trunk does not seal all the way to the trunk lid. found condensation build up around this area on the weather stripping. should i add more weather stripping or whawt would be the best way to go at this. i cant straightening it back out, thought about it but no way i can do it myself. SnowDrifter
You could try getting some self adhesive foam weatherstripping at home depot or something and use it to suppliment the stock seal where the bend is Quote ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
