Why would a subwoofer suck in under heavy bass lines? I have tries it with 3 different subs, 2 different amps, a mixer, and an iPod + phone with RCA plugs and all have the same effect of sucking in on loud bass lines. Could it be an issue with the ported box? It also happens regardless of song or sine wave

I should also add that it still plays bass like it should - just like it's only on the back half of the x-max

you didnt check it. Its out of phase thats why it pulls in when it should be pushing out. somewhere you have it out of phase.

I don't mean pulls in when it should be pushing out. I mean that it plays in phase, but it's like the entire sine wave has shifted so that the 'zero' point is no longer true 'zero,' but like it's in the negative

its out of phase. listen to the man. how did you even "check" if its out of phase?

Checked the input (3.5mm to XLR), then checked the crossover(XLR to XLR), then checked the wires going from the amp to the sub(Red to Red to Red).

I am using a mixer, DJ crossover, and a DJ amp but using car subwoofers.

And it plays completely normal at low volumes, It's only at high volumes that it shifts the peak from being say +5mm - -5mm to +3mm - -7mm

reverse the phase just for shits and giggles. see what happens.

Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs.

More box builds

some cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches!

I'm with captain stupid.

Same thing. But it seemed to go away regardless of phase when I turned my mids and high off?

Let me go play around with this a little bit. I will be back
