RCP Audio
Hey guys, the current box is total crap, it has something like 3"per foot on port area so as you could imagine, doesn't do anything for the subs. This is going in my 1991 Mazda 323 hatch so the boot area s tiny and I don't want to take out any trim panels unless I have to. this is what I have come up with for a new box, the dimensions are the max I can do. I know there is still a shortage of port area but I don't want the tuning to rise to much more than this. the subs are two pioneer ts-w308d4 12"subs. running at 2 ohms off a soundstream stl-1200d. is there anything i can do to this box design to make it preform better? this is the first time ive uploaded pics so i hope they work. I will embarrass myself and upload a pic of my current box if anyone would like to see it edit: links didnt work Edited October 30, 2011 by pinkoP35 Quote PSN: Rcp_soundz Good rule of thump is go by what fuse size is being used in these amps. The higher the more amperage it pulls, this is what I look at. I'll stick a 300 amp fuse in a potato and sell it to you for $2k. 1991 Mazda 323VERY small build thread here: http://www.stevemead...23-small-build/

RCP Audio
Okay so ive changed my mind after playing around in the car with the trim panels. I took one pannel off that now looks like it was installed by the previous owner, I can now go 500mm deep and 950mm wide. Thats a lot more space compared to my last design. what would be better do you think? a slot port down one side? and the two subs put really close together on the other. or the same design as last time, only bigger and lower tuned with more port? cheers, Quote PSN: Rcp_soundz Good rule of thump is go by what fuse size is being used in these amps. fecupe2001
No, it wouldn´t be good, i´ve tested one big port vs multiple smaller ports before and i always get louder with a single port, try finding 6" PVC tube, if not, then use 2 4" pvc ports...
