need some help please

Hey guys new here. I just had a few questions to start off with i was wondering how i could make my subs sound better along with playing lower and maby louder if possible. I was planning on building my own box this winter and wanted some tips. For the trunk of my 2000 audi a8 i have 2 15in Re audio SEx in a 6.2 cube box ported to 38 hz built by a local shop, it has no bracing lots of flex and kinda sounds like crap. The subs and port point up in the trunk and the port points to a cut out in my rear deck for added air movment. Its about 8x10 but the whole rear deck flops around alot, there running off of a hifonics brz1200. I also have 2 pair of diamond audio d1s fiber glassed in to the front doors and 1 pair in the rear powered by a power matching four channel hifonics amp ( dont remember witch one). So the mids and highs sound great but the low end just aint what it should be, can any one help please

By the way my trunk is only 14 in high and 41in wide

Add some deadner where and what kind? Well the demensions of the box thats in there now and fits perfectly behind the faulse wall is 41in wide 14in tall and 25in deep with the subs pointing up on the back half of the box and the port pointing up lined up with the rear deckcut out, port deminsions are 6.75in wide 8.25 tall and 10in deep into the box. Yea it fits behind the faulse wall perfectly but if i have to get rid of it to make the subs sound better i will. And also should i do the rear deck cut out larger? I hurd from another shop it should be at least 70 percent of cone area

Don't start adding sound deadener just yet. Get your sub/box/design, and placement all figured out first, then look at treating some of the sheet metal with sound deadener to kill resonance and improve the overall sound quality inside the vehicle.

Ok cool, what would you recomend for a product and on a budget, and where do you think i should put it with subs up port up for lined up with cut out in rear deck

The main problem is too large a sub in too small a space than can be provided for for good sound. Your best option is to drop down to a pair of 12's firing to the back of the car and deaden where your hearing noise being generated from.

EDIT: Another problem is that you only have 3cf per 15" and that is extremely small for a sub that large.

I don't want to drag this topic far too off course (since this is in the sub/enclosures category), but I would look at treating the roof, rear deck, and trunk lid. If you have rattles, look at installing some closed cell foam behind trim panels that are rattling and that will kill those squeaks and rattles.

In terms of product and staying on budget I would obviously suggest going with our Damplifier or even our Alpha Damp (since less Alpha Damp is required and would do an amazing job with your roof).

Other products I would suggest taking a look at, if you have an aversion with going with our products, would be Sound Deadener Showdown's CLD Tiles, Dynamat Xtreme, or even Stinger Expert Roadkill. SDS's CLD Tile would be my #1 pick out of those, much better product (thicker foil and great adhesive).

Oh, i was going off of what the manufacture recomends 3cube per sub ported for compact and 4cube per ported for optimal. I can move up to 8 cube if itll sound better? Plus is sub port up port aimed at hole cut in rear deck ok?
