6berry Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 As some of you have seen, I have 2 DC level 3 10's in a 4th order built for 4 10's. The enclosure is built for 2 subs per side but right now i only have 2 subs in one side and the other side sealed off. each sealed chamber is right around 1.25 cubes and polyfilled. what im thinking is would it be too much sealed volume if i put one sub on each side? ill be running them off either a boston 1250 rms amp or kicker 750.1 right now the box is really peaky so i figured it would flatten out the response a lot but i just dont know if it would be too much volume for the 10's. does anyone ahve any ideas besides saying test it and find out?? 1999 Audi A4 1.8T::: 4 - DC Level 3 10's in a 4th order Rockford P6002 on Subs for now (3-3.5k coming eventually) MB Quart ONX4.60 for Mids and Highs Boston S50 Components in Front Boston S65 Coaxials in Rear 40 Sq Ft of Second Skin Damplifier Build Thread UBL 1948 Plymouth
STEvil Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 try it, just go easy on them, although you should be going easy on them as it is right now since you've got 2x the ported volume and area you should have for the given sealed volume, which is why its really peaky. MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.
