roscoe1129 Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 You could get a four channel that runs the amount of power you need per channel at 2 ohms seeing how that is what resistance the amp will see. Put two sets of 5.25's on the front channels and one set of 5.25's and the x 9's on the rear channel. That would not be a good idea, 4 4ohm speakers on 1 channel would be a 1 ohm load which is fine with a good amp. the reason i suggest against this idea is because it will be extremely hard to balance the output of so many speakers connected to a single amp. there are some options out there for multi-channel amps, like the Zed Audio Leviathan, which has 6 channels. this could allow you some more flexibility in your installation and tuning, along with having great power output, but you will still be forced to place 2 sets of speakers into a single channel. best option, get 2 4-channel amps.
roscoe1129 Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 Which is why I sad a 4 channel. Most can handle a two ohm load easily. cqtama Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 Personally i would get 2 smaller 4 channel's Run the first 4 5 1/4's off the first one. put the other two on the front channel of the second amp and the 6X9's on the back channel of the second amp. That way you don't have any funky ohm loads everything that needs to match will (same speakers same channel) and you could adjust the 6X9's gain independent of the other 4 speakers since i bet they have a different power handling and would sound better on different settings than the 5 1/4's .02 R.I.P '01 blazer you treated my ears well until your transmission blew up.
