vettedude102 Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 I was looking at mids and highs and I was wondering what's the difference in pro audio and regular speakers. I just want the mids to keep up with the bass. 2 polk audio 4x6'skenwood head-unit 220 amp Mechman alt1979 Corvette 2003 corvette z06 alpine radio and the bose system that came stock

audiofanaticz Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Pro audio = loud from far away - affirmative good sq up close - negative I dont find that true, a lot of it is how its installed and crossed over. Hate to say it but there are a lot of professional audio companies that are very clean sounding.

audiofanaticz Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Peavey, jbl, rcf, mackie are some of the major brands used in moble dj applications, clubs, bars, concerts. then of coarse bemya and selenium are not to shabby either. Just because something gets loud, does not mean it can not be clean. Its all in the user setting them up with the correct crossover points, position, imaging, and so on. People say horn/bullet tweeters are harsh and bright sounding, also not true. Its all in how you set them up and cross them over, If you jam out with your tweeters at +7 well no shit it will be harsh and bright, any tweeter would be. you power the speakers with some crap amp your going to get crap sound. The main thing is not to be expecting a lot of midbass out of a professional audio midrange speaker if you want something to get down nasty get a pro audio midbass driver not a midrange. Most PA setups are 2 or 3 ways (woofer and tweeter) or (woofer, midrange, and tweeter).
