+ZER0Hz+ Posted November 15, 2007 Report Share Posted November 15, 2007 Alright, my friend (who is also a dumbass) bought a Kole 6 Farad capacitor We have a few problems: -The capacitor neon will not shut off after car is off. -While the neon is on, the digital voltmeter is on, reading 12.2 volts Any help? Is this even a problem? cmrs2k Posted November 15, 2007 Report Share Posted November 15, 2007 Does the cap have a remote wire or are the meter and neon tubes set to be turned on/off with voltage and current differentials? The caps that do not have a remote but that have all that junk on them have to turn the meter and lights on and off, so they use signs of current draw to actuate them. EDIT: if you have a digital battery terminal...the voltage is always showing. draws very little current. maybe something along the same lines? Only caps I have seen either stay on wile they are detecting a +-.01 voltage fluctuation or have a remote wire to turn on and off. But I haven’t ran a cap in years so it might be something new.
