Beginner
I just bought some templetes and I want to be able to cut them out of 1/8" material so I can cover them with leather and suede. Do they make 1/8" MDF? Or is there some other type of material I should use like masonite or something?

Beginner
Maybe it's 1/4" that I'm thinking of instead? Do they make 1/4" MDF? Can I buy a sheet of it at the lumber yard? Does anyone know what kind of material or thickness they are using for the main part of the door/backing plate? It's looks very thin and sturdy. Namosh
You can buy 1/4" hardboard at any home improvement store or lumber yard. They usually have it in half sheets (4'x4') also. Quote My Ram Quad Cab Blow-through

Namosh
Hardboard is kind of like unfinished paneling. It is smooth on one side and rough on the other. Very stiff and strong. It cuts and sands pretty rough. But if you are going to cover it with something it wont matter. It also comes in 1/8 inch. I use if for all kinds of things.
