2 way vs. 3 way

Recommended Posts

So i'm doing SPL build in BMW 325i, but not sure if I should go with 2 way system or 3 way.

Now, I have stock 3 way front stage and just 6.5 in the back, but I'm upgrading front stage with DD cs6.5 (which is 2 way) and in the the back I'm putting alpine( until I'll get another set of DD) .

Is it worth upgrading to 3 way ( getting 4" mid, 3 way active and passive crossover's ect.) or should I just stick with 2 way?

Is there any major difference between 2 way and 3 way?

:drinks::popcorn:

If you are going for spl, I would save your money and save it for the substage. Plus two ways can sound just as good or beter than a three way in a similar price range

If you're like me and start grinning every time you hear every note and sound in a song and even the breathing in between lines I would go for the 3 way.

And the fact more than one person agrees does not make it a circle jerk, it makes it a bukkake scene and you're in the middle ;)

People in this forum need to stop throwing the word/phrase/whatever it is "SQ" around like they know what it is. :bull:

And what is an active and passive crossover? <_<

Lol then I guess theres no need to go threw the hassle of 3way.

I dont "name," but something more like a phrase... i would personally call it a "clean sounding setup."

SQ has to do with time alignment, speaker placement, removing peaks (equalizing), specific crossovers, etc

i would probably go with the three way set up, more tools to reproduce the sound with, just don't go cheap on it and be smart about the placement

The only way to delete your SMD account is for you crawl to steve meades door step on your knees and pleade for his forgiveness and acceptance to be released...He will either grant your wishes.....or choke you with a large piece of 0 gauge and electrocute you by hooking up a solid gold DC 12k at 0.000001 ohm and 10000 volts to your eye sockets and blow your head apart
