dr.poz Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 Hey guys I'm new to the forum here. SMD was suggested to my by some people over at Head-Fi. Anyhow, hers my delima...I know absolutely nothing about subwoofers/amps/enclosures, but im looking to get all of the above for christmas. They will be going into my 2006 Saab 9-3 Aero. Im looking for: tight, clean, punchy bass that DOESNT overpower the rest of the music. I still want to crank it up and really feel it with some Dubstep, but nothing over the top. Amlost every car ive been in with aftermarket subs has sounded distorted and overpowered...basically a giant, bass-ish, vibrating noise machine. I would like to avoid that at all costs. So what do you guys suggest? What size and what brand of sub, what amp would go with it, and what type of enclosure would i need. Price range isnt much of a factor here. Im willing to invest the necessary money in return for an excellent system.

They make and install their own components and tailor the system to your specific vehicle. I heard one of the company's owners vehicles, Ferrari California, and his system at the LA Auto Show and it sounded amazing. Check'em out on line just google Reus car audio. A sealed enclosure might be a good choice or you could get a design from Hexibase on YouTube. He will design a box specifically for your vehicle so it would have a flat response. fmedina Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 If you don't want the bass to over power the mids and highs then I strongly recommend getting a 4ch amp and some aftermarket speakers. Having a clean sounding system takes more than just adding some subs.

I was reading some reviews and looking through some deals and found 2 brand new Rockford P3D210's And a kicker 10zx750.1 for $525. Do those subs pair well with that amp? I've read that the p3's can't go as loud as some subs, but reproduce bass lines excellently, which is pretty much what I'm looking for. Good deal? I agree with the people saying I should get more than just subs to truly have a clean system. For now, I'm going to go one step at a time before I throw thousands of dollars into this project.
