Have a yellow top up front and I have a shuriken bt80 I want to put in the back. Its rated at 80ah. Im asking because I have 2awg right now and at the store I work at the biggest we go it 2awg and I can get a good ass deal on it. I have done the big 3 with 0awg for those who want to know.

audiofanaticz Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 you should be fine as long as you do not have a high output alternator. I dont feel that a stock alternator will make over 200-230 amps of current(depending on brand, type of wire ofc/cca, and length. Since all wires are not created equal). So 2 gauge wire should be safe for 2,000-2,300 watts rms, and having a rear battery in the vehicle will lighten the amperage load that is carried from the front of the vehicle to the rear.
