Something wrong with my Mechman?

Recommended Posts

As i said before, no words from Mechman but i didn´t even send you guys an email either because i prefer to test EVERYTHING before complaining about something, that´s why i started this topic, because i wanted to get a few inputs about what could be happening with my electrical :drinks:

Gonna try to test everything i can this ween then, gonna post results in a few days i guess...

P.S: Yes, i used the copper terminal that came attached on my alternator, and i´m using 1/0 gauge from it to the battery positive.

Here is my question, what are you doing when you burp and record your voltage reading? Like are you just doing like a 3 sec burp look and voltage drop then pause the head unit? Cuz if so, I would try getting at least a 15 second tone at whatever frequency you are burping and record what the voltage is doing that entire 15 second full tilt pull.

Exactly the way you just said, 5 seconds burp and record the voltage drop, if i was dropping to high 11´s on a 5 second burp, man i don´t want to imagine the drop on a 15 sec burp lol

Tested this thing a few hours ago, about to post a video that includes: Resting Voltage, consumption with lots of things turned on including the a/c , and also, a test i saw on the internet about measuring resistance on the negative line ( i don´t know if i measured properly) lol.

Before the video wich is uploading on youtube, i changed the 200 amp fuse for a 300 amp fuse on the positive line coming from the alternator to the positive on the battery, voltage was dropping to 11.9v before i changed the fuse, 12.5v after i changed it, so things are working better right now, i still think it´s a low voltage using small power on 4 runs of wire and a big ass alternator and battery, but once again, i haven´t added the negative line from the alternator to the battery as Mechman recommended, once again, i need your inputs about the test i did on the negative wire that you are about to see on the video, i saw somewhere that a 0.02 number on the DMM shows you that you have some resistance, i measured 0.03 and 0.04

anything over .04 needs to be changed iirc, least thats what i member the MECP book saying, the closer to 0.00 the better

Legal TL scores145.6 on the dash sealed up in the low 40hz area with the port out145.5 on the dash sealed up @30hz with the port inless then 1k clamped on a 3.5k!

Why would you EVER WANT flex?
huh?...flex is what can make the lows lower and more air being pushed correct?

Once again, i´m a total noob when it comes to electrical, i didn´t even know how to measure that thing until i found this video today:

at 10:18

If i did the test correctly, then i guess i´m having some serious resistance on the grounds, once again, i didn´t know i had to get a 0 gauge run from the negative on the alternator to the negative on the battery, no one told me that before lol

i have mine mounted on the top stud of the alt, where it blots to the stock location, to the neg on the batt, i had asked matt when i was ordering how to properly apply the big 3

Yeah, i found the same spot for an easier connection, at least things are getting better now lol, i was getting worried already lol , let´s just hope that, after i install that negative run , my voltage doesn´t drop below 12.8 - 13v using a single battery and 1600 wich isn´t bad at all :)

Curious to see the results after you install the negative run. Been lurking this thread since you posted it. lol
