LSN2meBoom916
Screws basically = Long term clamps. Most, if not everyone, would agree that the glue is enough by itself, and the screws just hold it tightly while the glue dries, otherwise you can save yourself having to fill and sand your countersunk screws. Personally, I predrill & countersink tonns of screws, Glue the hell outta it, then fill and sand the srew head/divets. Overkill never really hurts other than taking longer, costing more $$ in materials and maybe weighing slightly more. (200 screws = maybe 1/4lb?) Decaf
if you have metal clamps, the old type, not those plastic pos clamps, you dont even need screws. i usually use lots of weight, old metal clamps and titebond original and lots of it. sometimes my clamps arent big enough which in that case ill use some 2" coarse drywall screws(predrillled) but the wood and glue are pretty damn strong by themselves o and to answer more specifically to your ? glue, clamp(for at least an hour), and screw if needed
