Sorry I didn't read everything they've ever posted on the World Wide Web ass.

That's stupid as hell bc what company does that? I have NEVER seen a company create a shipping label & notification for an item that don't exsist. That doesn't make any sense no matter how you look at it. Roflmao! Its retarded.

Either way, if that's how their procedure goes, and even tho its a first, now that I know I'll expect that with future orders. I'm not gonna stop ordering or anything. Just think its outta the normal since every company I've ordered from online or otherwise creates the shipping label as it goes out the door.. no biggie.

Most companies don't build to order either. It is very normal to create a shipping label as the order is processed. How many times have you heard of people that received a tracking number and then complained that their item was back ordered/out of stock? I don't know of many companies that create a shipping label as the item goes out the door, it's just that it is more common for the item to be shipped out the door the same day it was ordered. Logistically, it is easier for the company (especially ones that do lots of shipping) to have a single order creation process rather than multiple steps along the way.

^^Youre like 3wks late lol. DC has built to order- no tracking # til it goes out the door, custom made parts from Toolmaker- no tracking # til it leaves, specialty alts & bracket built by Mechman- no tracking # til they leave, XS batts on backorder- no tracking # til they officially were in stock & on the way. And that's just car audio for this one build, not mentioning the other custom/ built to order items I've ordered my airride, billet parts for my interior & motor, etc.. on just this ONE build. I've been building rides for the past 18yrs! Not once has a company sent me a tracking # before the item exsists..

I agree, but they do state on the site, they make to order.

I'd like to try an SP4 despite our disagreements, I think Fi is still a good company

really? do we have to get down to semantics here? Most companies ship the same day you order, so everything gets created at once. Especially companies like Audiosavings or SonicElectronix (sp?) that ship tons of stuff each day. The company I used to work for ships thousands of things (phones) a day and everything was created at once based on inventory levels in the computer system. There were times that the inventory was wrong in the computer and an order was created for something that didn't exist. Now, we didn't provide that tracking number UNTIL the item went out the door, but doesn't mean it wasn't created before hand. Companies that have mostly automated systems do this, I know we have had people on here post about orders that have tracking numbers and then turn up to be out of stock or on back order.

It is a bit weird to do it this way if you build to order, but that is their choice.

This is not the method that a company (or person) would use if they manually create shipping labels for orders. But if you ship thousands of things a day, who manually creates shipping labels?

I really should have been more specific and specified companies that ship huge amounts, but I didn't. My bad.
