I have a guy local that has one and I want to run one on my new xfl's. But I'm not very familiar with the old school ab's. He said it does 3100rms at 1 is this true? Also it's in maybe 7/10 cosmetic condition. What should I honestly pay for an amp like this? n8ball2013 Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 its a good amp. As long as you arent concerned with the looks of it. It should do rated but not much more. I dont think it was ever rated at that. They were used alot in iasca or usaci comps because they had a stupid 4 ohm rating. Id be hesitant if the guy ever competed. it was probably burped hundreds of times at a stupid low load. They would make tons of power down low though. But I pm'ed 97maxima since I knew he had experience with AB. He said he wouldn't pay what I was going to for it that it wasn't really worthy it. He also told me it should do a solid 2k-2500 rms. So I decided not to get it. Plus also the fact that it's kind of beat up. Plus also the fact that it's kind of beat up. They do atleast 2k RMS all day long. But MANY of these were very abused. These amps were known to take a beating, so most of the time people ran these at ridiculously low ohm loads and ended up frying outputs and sometimes the entire power supply circuit.
