SnowDrifter Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 (edited) Just do what I do... Hook up an amp, set the gains properly, then play some music and watch the sub. If you are pushing mechanical limits, turn the gain down. If you smell coil, turn the gain down. You might just have to 'feel this one out' to see what it can and cannot take. As for carbon fiber cone: that's good to have and helps efficiency, but shouldn't change the power handling since I doubt the limiting factor in how much the sub could take is the cone Edited January 3, 2012 by SnowDrifter Quote ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
