I am simply amazed at this. Hard to believe this is all being done by someone 3 years older than my daughter lol. I saw the look on the guys' faces that were on the stage with you, and I think they may have felt the same way. Keep rockin' dude. You have talent beyond your years. I can only imagine what your work will look like in the future.

What did you have to do to keep the air bag light off with the steering wheel swap?

I can't speak for sure about GM's but on my Cruiser I just took out the light bulb for the air bag light. Problem solved!

So for some reason I was never notified when you guys posted. sorry

Great build. Wish I had the time, place and funds to pull something like this. Also wish I had the age lol

It does make it nice at home with the shop

My dad taught me along the way and so far I've kept up with the truck.

Thank you man

Any updates?

So far, no. Trying to get the funds for more audio equipment. Kinda hard when I get like 12 mpg

Its on, along with the e-brake light because that has been cut out for the body drop. Gotta love custom trucks.

Are you going to paint the doors orange?

I'm thinking the gloss black with ghost flames.

Thank you. I want to order the 8's before I start to finish the doors.

  • 4 weeks later...

So there is a reason there hasn't been any updates. Truck is down and out right now. On my way home from salem I heard a strange noise from the rear. Got under the truck and the axle had shifted to the passenger side about 3/4 of an inch. From what I've determined, a weld on the bottom of the frame pulled away from the frame. The weld had little to no penetration. The four link was installed when I bought the truck and we should've inspected it. So both four link mounts on the frame are twisted and tore. Been looking for replacements, but probably going to have to get custom ones made. I have also been contemplating making my own at school. I love fabricating, but not sure I trust myself 100% on something like this. My outlook on this is I'd rather be in the garage working on my custom truck, than sitting in the house driving a stock truck. I love driving what we built and this is part of customizing. Things break and we fix them. Anyways, I had to install springs and spacers to hold the truck up so I could remove the hydraulic system from the bed. Here's some pics.

Here you can see this weld. Surprised it made it this long.

No bueno.

So I've decided to take the opportunity of doing some things while I got it stripped down. Plan on replacing the fuel pump, making a skid plate for the gas tank, cutting the blow through a little bigger and more square, strengthening the frame (probably box it in) and also just clean it all and repaint it. It might take awhile, but after that I'm going directly to the door panels and also starting a nice amp rack. Saw a great idea from another build log on here.
