Matrix03
In my 03 toyota matrix hatchback, my subs are in a audio store regular dual 12 sealed box. the box is not big enough to stop moving around in the trunk of the car, there is like 12 inches on each side but the wheel wells pop up in the trunk and i was wondering if i should build a custom box that fits perfectly back there or just build like 2 wings to fill the space and attach them to the box already so the box is sturdier. ty, and you guys have some sick setups, i always thought mine hit hard but not anymore, mine is garbage compared to you guys. roscoe1129
well then get some velcro strips and attach then to the box and floor. will keep it from sliding and is still removable from the vehicle. Matrix03
does that actually hold it in place?...my trunk is all plastic and the box's carpet is like a lil kid running through a slip n' slide when i take any corner or slow down or accelerate. all you hear is whooooo, clunk as it hits one of the sides of my trunk
Decaf
you can always just cut a piece of plywood/mdf to the size of the floor then attatch L backs to the board to box so you arent puting holes in the sheet metal thats what i did
Matrix03
i might try that, because as it is now my amp is mounted on the back of the sub box and with this idea i could mount the amp on the floor as well as the cap. roscoe1129
yeah it works just put the plastic loops of the velcro on the trunk not the box (use plenty) and it will grab the box carpet. but Decafs Idea was good too! Matrix03
thanks, i heard about the velcro but always thought that the boxes were to heavy to be "velcro'd" like tennis shoes. is it better to have the box centered in the trunk or is it alright to off set it to one side or does that change sound at all? Decaf
maybe its just me but when the box was on drivers side it was louder on passanger and when box was on passanger it was louder at driver so i compromised
