03TahoeXXX Posted January 10, 2012 Report Share Posted January 10, 2012 ok so im starting my long overdue build log. it may seem complete and for the moment is. i have along way and alot more i wanna do to it before it id consider it a big nice build lol. i hope you enjoy what i have done so far and i have tons more in the works as money allows. ill start off with pics of the truck when i first got it to how it sits now. then ill post pics off all my equipment i have so far. enjoy!!!! when i first got the truck it looked like this already. i traded a 96 chevy single cab silverado and a 98 ext z71 for it straight up. truck was almost all stock except the 26" u2 wheels,dual exhaust, and black parkin lamps and halo headlights with 6k hids. 03TahoeXXX Posted January 10, 2012 Author Report Share Posted January 10, 2012 i grew tired of the shitty ride the 26s gave the ho so i decided to change up the look. sold the 6s and bought sum brand new black 22" kmc slides and 33/12.5/22 toyo tires. the truck is 2wd but i love the look the muds gave the truck. plus the larger tire gave the truck a way better ride. first day i got them. only rubbed when i turned hard and backed up. cranked the keys alil and nomore rub. 03TahoeXXX Posted January 10, 2012 Author Report Share Posted January 10, 2012 some of the pics is where i was in goodyear arizona working for awhile. then others is home here in teneessee. i found a hd hood from a buddy so we done some tradeing and i put it on the truck. even now hood is still white but i plan on eventually haveing the whole truck repainted black and all chrome powdercoated black to give it that murdered out look. then i got a billet grill. was gonna paint it black but it looked good as was and im going to wait till i have everything else painted. 03TahoeXXX Posted January 10, 2012 Author Report Share Posted January 10, 2012 i hatted the light output of the halo lights at night. even with hids in them it suxd. so i got sum smoked headlights and parking lights with chrome on the inside to help reflect the hids better and i love them. wayyyyy better light output at nite. then i had to put new brakes on and rotate tires so i decided to paint calipers and the ehaust and tips. calipers blue of course and tips black. i used the high temp engine paint on both and it has had up flawless the past 2 months. i put alot of coats on there. 03TahoeXXX Posted January 10, 2012 Author Report Share Posted January 10, 2012 ok well thats how she is sitting as of today. now as far as audio goes ill make a list of how it is now. and what i have in the plans. pioneer 4300 blah blah double din alpine 6.5 and 5.25 componets dc 175.4 powering componets excessive amperage 300amp alt i got from cj. its in place over the stock alt now. 2 d3100s dc 5k 4 dc xl 18s dual 1 coils one main run of 2/0 welding cable and phieox gold ofc 0 guage going to amps big 3 stinger volt meter 4 audioque super tweeters not installed yet. mike singer 350amp external regulated alt. still waiting on voltage regulator to get here before it can be installed think thats about it right now. i have the dc 5k running at .5ohm and i have bad voltage drop into the high 11s at full tilt. so i only play it at full tilt for very short periods at a time. i need one more run of power wire from front to back and singer alt installed to see if that helps with voltage drop. if not then ill be getting a dual alt bracket and runing the ea alt for the truck itself and the 2 d3100s for the 4 channel and running the singer alt to the 5k on a 16v system and d1600s. once i get my eletrical to where its solid i plan on building custom door panels and focusing on the front stage. then tons of deadner and reinforceing the roof. eventually add one more alt with a triple bracket. one more dc 5k or sell my 5k and get a 9k. then possibly selling my xl m1s for xl m2s or the new m2 level 5s when they come out. also would like to build a custom center console with some lvl 2 8s in it. so im far from done with my truck and also have alot more body mods and performace mods planned for the ho. so this build log is far from done. income tax time is around the corner so ill be doing electrical stuff and posting alot more pics than i currently have. i was in a rush to hear these things playing so didnt take alot of pics. but i promise to take alot more starting now. on to the audio pics that i have. xl 18s compared to alpine type s 10 i had Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
