I will be only keeping 1 alt and its a 270 amp dcpower and I was told to run 3-4 batts in the back.. I'm looking at the xs xp3000 but they're 3000w while the xs d3100 are 5000w, which is a mighty difference in the end.. I would at least do 2 runs of positive and 2 runs of grounds to the back batts. Like said above I would look for a bigger alt. I know I have seen a 2.5 with a 300amp just can't remember where.
