The Big Oki
The more they grind, the more they find... Sorry, no big news here. I am just updating the pictures from time to time. This week I try to finish the test enclosures and put them into my car so that I can calculate the final enclosure and we will build it already then togeter with the main frame for the syste in the trunk and the plate with the amplifiers. If that is done, in a few weeks, we can do nothing but wait until the car is painted and ready to come to the shop. Funny! The "Bar" stands strong during all grinding and other dusty work! Üüüühh!!! The Big Oki
Ok, test enclosures are ready and work VERY well in my daily car, driven with just 200 watts each sub. I estimate a good 142 db with a relatively flat freq. response from 24-55hz. Not that dbs matter in that project, but it just give you a rough estimation. Also it "feels" like more and that is what always counts for me and my enclosure designs. In the rolls, the circumstances are not as good as in my stationwagon but I calculated that in with the freq. response so that it sounds "too low" in my car now. Also I can tune the ports a little bit if needed. But all in all I am very happy with the turnout. Even my concerns about the port noise are gone because of the low power we use here. What it will do finally in the Rolls with around 300-400 watts each sub, we will know... in a couple of...MONTHS...HOPEFULLY. So far I finally made the last designs for the enclosure how it will be. There are still some versions but I think it will be the one in the front of the picture. For several reasons. Made a little animation also where you can see what also leads to that decisions. (mounting the subs and so on) Here you find the little animation: Üüüühh!!! Michael www.SQPL.de Rulez!

The Big Oki
its not even finished, and already on tour hahaha. ps.: why use the foam? because it is the way to go for that purpose. unfortunately I may not be able to damp the enclosure like i want because it should not be visible in the chamber with the window. i may just put i on the top where nobody will see it. so at least one side is made.
