Nivram Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 hey So ive been in the market for a new amp and ive recently saw this 6000watt power acoustik amp for fairly cheap Just wondering if its any good? http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_39761_Power-Acoustik-D1-6000D.html I also saw a few 5500watt power acoustic amps that have been manufacturer refurbed but then it scares me because its like why have so many of these power acoustik amps been refurbed?? Either way im in need of an amp for 4 audiobahn 15's the problem is 2 of the 4 15's are discontinued subs that are rated 650rms 1300watt max while the other 2 are new and are only 500rms 1000max. Would i need to have a two channel amp so i could run the 2 kinds of subs? I was thinking pair up the old 15's wire them down to 2ohm and run to one channel Then pair up the new 15's and wire them up to the other channel Or would it be safe to wire all subs down to 1ohm and have all 4 on 1 channel? Brandonrcm Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 Just stay away from power acoustics in general, that amp will Put nowhere near 6000 watts of power out, their products are majority over rated and do nowhere near rated, also you do not want to mismatch a bunch of subs

Omega5002 Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 Yeah, Power Acoustik is on the same level as Pyle, Pyramid, entry lv Planet Audio, and maybe even as bad as Boss. kraz1021 Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 id never buy anything from power acoustik or any of their sister companies.it says that 6000w watts is its max power(which it would never make unless a bolt of lightning hit it)and rms is 3500w at 1ohm which i probably an inflated number

As for subs all 4 are audiobahn just 2 of them are rated with a 150rms more than the the other 2. If i had the money trust me id get sundown but its wayyyy to expensive for me at the moment Im looking to spend 200- 350 on an amp and ive got 250 into my subs. but i didnt know if i should stick with the 4 15's or step up and get 2 power acoustik mofo 15's because the rms of the mofo's are more thank the tottal of all 4 subs i have now. just less cone area.
