BillKessel Posted January 23, 2012 Report Posted January 23, 2012 I have two JL audio w6 12's in a ported box with both subs facing down toward port, when i put my face up to the port i can smell a faint smell from the subs? It does not smell like the memphis that i burned up but it is making me worry! Quote

Both of the subs make a scratching noise when i push them past half way. i dont know if that normal? Both subs are very easy to push it also Quote
BillKessel Posted January 23, 2012 Author Report Posted January 23, 2012 Maybe you're smelling the inside if your box. The box does have a leak where air goes through ( to the magent of the subs) since there inverted and the cones shoot down into the port i might be smelling that? Quote

They are probably pushed to the max by the previous owner and the coil is probably f**ked up and the spiders aren't as effective as new because they are worn out.
