Recommended Posts

ok so i need a 4 12" sub box design for my alero its gonna be in the trunk max dimensions r

15H X 25D X 36W if facing the subs up.

18H X 24D X 36W if facing them into the cabin.

tuned to low 30s

i need someone to tell me if this is possible with 1.75CuFt per sub ive been using torres box calc but im only able to get 6.5cuft total before i even put the port in idk if im doing something wrong or if im shit outa luck on being able to fit 4 12s in my trunk

if it wont work out i need to know how itll be louder facing the subs into the cabin (sealed off) with just 2 12s

someone said after a certain mount of power is when the subs get louder fcing into the cabin then towards the trunk lid is this true?

Well, depending on the subs, the following subs can work well on 1.5 cuft each

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_16665_Pioneer-TS-W3002D4.html

Handle 1KW each.

Do I like this? NO, but most subs on 1.5 cuft will not work well (Ported) for daily use.

So with those you can setup a box on your dims that would tune to 33Hz with Vb= 6cuft.

Dual 15"s can also be setup on that space.

4 12's upward facing in a trunk?

subs up is usually a bad way to go in a trunk.

go with 2 beefier 12's and seal them off from the trunk firing into the cabin. should be plenty loud.

Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs.

More box builds

some cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches!

ok, and your not him to each his own if he wants 4 12s the let him do 4 12s. honestly though if you dont have the space then you dont have the space. maybe 3 12s or 4 10s instead"

^^sorry to bump the closed thread here, but you just contradicted yourself.

he asked for input, we said it probably wouldn't work the best.

he decided on 2 15's anyways.
