tomas_n1 Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 Hey guys, i'm designing my first enclosure and i have a question about the port. i'm gonna be using 2 L7 kickers 15" and tune the box to 40Hz. Now the port will be over the full length of the box(so 47.2") and be 6" high. The question is...when i put it on a slot port, my port would need to be 2.26" long and if i say it's not a slot port it would be 25.86" long. Please reply with wich one is right. Thanks V much!

It is taking 1/2 width from the length for slot effect and you have 47 as the width. Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.
