rgriffin83
I just hooked up a line driver to my head unit/aq2200d and need to know about the settings. 1st of all, the volt boosts are 2.5, 5, 7.5, and 10... Now I know 10 would be to high and 2.5 too low but anyone know if the amp han handle 7.5 or would it be best to stay at 5? Next the 2 knob settings is one that has a know that goes from "wide" to "narrow" any help on what this setting is and how it should be set? then a freq setting that goes from 27hz to 80hz, cny help on where I should put it for a 15" fi btl on an aq2200d? 1 15" FI BTL N2 AQ2200d Big 3 Pioneer head unit kinetik 1200 (under the hood) kinetik 2400 (dedicated to the sub) Mids and highs coming soon! MrSkippyJ
well, for starters it would help us if you told why you needed the line driver. It's hard to guess what setting to use without knowing it's intended purpose. Also, what H/U are you using? rgriffin83
using a pioneer dvd h/u and it has a basic 2 volt line driver, got a 2k watt rms fi btl and a 2200 watt rms amp so amp is running at full power to push the sub. Wanted to up the volts from my h/u to the amp and take a little load off of my amp. 1 15" FI BTL N2 AQ2200d Big 3 Pioneer head unit kinetik 1200 (under the hood) kinetik 2400 (dedicated to the sub) Mids and highs coming soon! MrSkippyJ
how did you set your gain? 2v is not uncommon and you shouldn't have to turn your gain all the way to compensate for 2v. cvxsmitty58
just for reference i run a jl CL-RLC remote level controller and it puts out 7.5 volts max and i have the gain on my aq2200d at about 60%. No clipping issues even with the knob all the way up. Btw its pushing a 18" BTL.
Decaf
for 2v there's no need for a line driver... they are best used when you have multiple amps and you need to drive many signals
