OrionStang
How about this, Rob? Question though, on a center port, don't you cut the width in half at the "L" of the port? So it would be 2.25" after the turn? Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
miniSPLlancer
How would you port the 15's if you went that route. I'm assuming you'd fire the subs foward, maybe port to the side?? The 15's will definately be louder, and obviously play lower, but then you run outta trunk lol. Trial and error brotha Not true. I've proven many times over a pr of 10's can get just as low and be louder as well. When it comes to a trunk bigger is not always better. OrionStang
15's just wouldn't work. I could build it in the trunk, but I would have nowhere for batteries. And they would be cramped for box volume. 2 12's is the ticket here. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
OrionStang
Somebody want to verify for me? I thought with a center port, you narrow the width by half at the turn. Now, Rob said to keep it the same width throughout. Am I missing something here? Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
mw02civic
I was always told the same as rob suggested but was never explained exactly why. It has always worked great for me though.
Soapbox
The only problem with this thread is Orion won't keep the thing installed long enough to do all the required testing to make it loud. Since I know this one is subject to change. He's got me wondering what his dedicated bass vehicle will be. Now I'd bet this one will be impressive. CJ18
It's definitely something different that you haven't tried before. If you could make your own 8" aeroport, you would have an easily adjustable tuning.
OrionStang
Gonna do this. Thanks to Jay(mazdaspl) and Cody(CJ18) for doing the design and sketchup. http://c714091.r91.cf2.rackcdn.com/b38f8c1b5d61543236bee1521bcd04fa56920cbcfb.png http://grab.by/bP6E The second pic just shows the internal measurements, it will have an aero port. 2 cubes sealed, 4 ported, 46hz tuning.
