91explorer Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 well today i check the ohms of my dd 3512e's and both subs are reading between 1.5 to 1.9 ohms on each lead. what ohm should my subs be? the guy i brought the subs from told me they was dual 1.4 subs. dd doesnt have dual 1.4 as a option but they do have a dual 1.5 option. Robert8252 Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 Also your multimeter adds its own resistance into the reading. Touch the + and - leads and see what it says. AmmoJammo Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 its most likely a dual 2ohm. DC resistance isn't the nominal impedance. generally, a "4ohm" sub might measure ~3.5ohm really your only option for two subs is to wire each sub in series, then wire the two in parallel.
