Nivram Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 just got my new amp and it looks amazing!! i have 4ga wires but the amp powered up fine. Although the hifi colossus sign lit up it wouldnt play my type r 10" i took the sub out of the box and all i heard was a bit of squeeky feedback but no boom boom. Im not sure if my amp is bad or whats going on i tryed both channels on the amp but nothing but feedback. do i need a min 0ga wire set up to play this amp? or did i get a lemon ? I know you miss bass, but you may have rushed too quickly into another headache x2 this, you went in over your head imo. this is why i tell all noobs (no offense) to start out small and work their way up. what do you mean it just outputs feedback? are the rca's brand new? or did you take them out of some random box you had laying around? they may be bad.
Nivram Posted February 9, 2012 Author Report Posted February 9, 2012 I know im a noob but ive done at least 6 systems, not anything near the power im working with now but i know the basics just not comp set ups. the rca's are brand new monster cable rca's i this its because i only have 4ga wire. the terminals on the amp fit 0ga i have 25ft of 0ga on its way. I got the amp to power up and light up with the 4ga just couldnt get it to play. im hoping the 0ga will do the trick. im running a second batt soon so itl have more power im also doing the big 3. Nivram Posted February 9, 2012 Author Report Posted February 9, 2012 the only thing that scares me is i messed up the amp using the thinner wire. but i didnt have any gains cranked nor have the volume up past 1 i was simply just trying to make sure it worked.
