AB18VFL Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 someone once told me, if im using a stock alternator and adding a battery, that i SHOULD NOT connect the batts - to -. They said to just do 1 positive run to the back, then ground the hell out of the rear batt. Is this true? And also, i picked this battery up a while ago. The website i bought it from had a "Car Audio Cell" section, and i bought the battery that "replaces the Kinetic HC800". When I got it, i realized that it's a Sealed Lead Acid battery and not AGM like kinetik. People are saying it shouldnt make much of a difference. What do you think? skittlesRgood Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 that person sounds stupid. the front battery is grounded to the chassis too so when you ground the rear battery to the chassis you make a complete circuit. its the same thing as running a wire directly to the front battery except the steel in the car isnt as conductive as copper and you will have a choking point at the stock 8awg battery ground so you need to upgrade that. That´s nonsens skittles, you know it, but i can´t explain why. The best ground for a battery in the trunk is the ground on the negative pole of the main battery under the hood or where she is in the car.
