OG BudBone
I'm trying to do the big 3 upgrade on my 97 trans am (5.7L lt1) and I can't find a spot on the engine block to run to the chassis. Does anyone know where I can do it at?? Any help is much appreciated. 1997 Trans Am WS6 Pioneer DEH-P5200HD 2 DC Level 4 M2 12s 4 cubes tuned to about 34hz DC 3.5k 1/0 Welding Supply Ultra Flex Stock 140A alt Stinger Fuses & Fuse Holders XS Power D5100 XS Power XP3000
n8ball2013
you can always use the alternator mounting point. its not exactly the block itself but its close. The factory engine ground is on the back of the engine i believe and a nightmare to get to . n8ball2013
i think you would be fine. if you are worried about it ground to your frame ground to the alt bracket ground to the chassis. You can keep looking but its not the easiest engine to do this on. Ill go out and look again at mine but the alternator mounting point should be more than substantial. beatinpearls
The bolts that hold the ignition module and coil have studs. you can use one of those or you can usually find some unused 3/8 threads on the front of the block. I would chase the block threads with a tap cause they are usually full of gunk or have paint in them.
