alright cool, if your dads buying your system and willing to pay $700 a sub....... just know that this is what you can get. (these are just off the top of my head)

you can get about 7, SEVEN skar audio 12s and be a heavy ass hitter if you really want to take advantage of this situation.

Sundown Z series X3

Ascendant Audio Mayhem Series X3

SoundSolutionsAudio ZCON X3

oh and like 3-4 DC level 4 with XL upgrade whatever inch your looking for (ballpark)

for $1400 in subs alone IF YOU DONT GO THE JL ROUTE instead of 750 rms per sub....

you can go 2-3 THOUSAND watts PER SUB...

you know you want to actually be loud and not only SQ, quit playin man.

Lol well the subs are 800 for me not 1400, and if i went with multiple 2-3 thousand watt subs, then i gotta get the amps to support them. thats not in my price range haha.. this is gonna be my first decent system.. ill go more spl eventually. but right now.. i just wanna hit the hardest in my school district and sound good as well.

Also... i own a ford mustang and do not plan on removing my entire back interior... just for those 2 13s i have to have my entire back seat removed, a custom box built and reassmebled just for it to fit in the trunk. before i had 2 baby kenwood 12s getting overpowered in my back seat.

you don't HAVE to get an amp to power them to their full potential.

if you're not going to listen to what we're saying about getting better subs, why the hell would you ask in the first place?

Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs.

More box builds

some cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches!

I'm with captain stupid.

I am listening. and "taking notes" if u will but i dont have a choice in my system path atm. The advice you guys are giving is very helpful but that will be for future systems. My main concern in asking this question was to see if my system was going to be good. For a 17 year old who doesnt know much and doesnt go to competitions. I just want a good sounding system that hits hard enough to where i can say i am the loudest in my school district. All i want. But thanks a lot for all the info.. even the negatives help me out

we're trying to help you BE louder. a $450 800w woofer is a fucking rip off and you can get something with three times the power handling for the same exact price. yeah you say you'll upgrade for future systems, but that involves buying more woofers and bigger amps and the electrical for them. if you buy a bigger woofer that costs the same from the start, you save $500 right there and that can go towards other things. no one ever said you had to put 2000w to a 2000w woofer. you can put 1000 to it and it will work just fine. you'll always have that extra headroom when you decide to step it up.

edit: essentially, get better equipment per $ (aka not JL) and you'll be better off.

I don't understand the mentality "I'm gonna get this setup for sure, but i'll ask people if it's a good setup, even though i can't turn back now"

I heard the W6's... they're alright. You won't be the loudest I'm assuming. Not with a prefab and 2 12's. Everyone here is right. You're basically wasting your dad's money. Get a set of balls, glue them to the inside of your empty sack and tell your dad to come read this. These guys all have 1000x more experience than you and are giving you good advise. MY advise to you is to take it, sir.

I used to have 3 12w3v3s a long time ago, but ever since I went to 12w7s I have always been happy. I have heard 12w6s, but you're better off getting a 12 w7 in a sealed box, which is nice since JL already makes a pre-made box (w7 included & already put in) that is designed to sound the best for it by real listeners.

This is like buying an Alienware and using it to browse Facebook and watch porn.

Even if someone else is buying, that extra $500-800 you spend to go from a pair of Fi or Sundown or DC subs to a pair of JL subs is enough to get you MUCH better amplifiers, MUCH better mids and highs, or a greatly upgraded charging system for the car.

wtf is lolcats?

I'd def get a fat hooker if i had to resort to that kinda thing. I feel like they'd be grateful and work harder. Also its more bang for my buck, more real estate for my dollar if you catch my drift. its like the Costco of streetwalkers.

I was hoping for 150 :(.

I was hoping she would let me put it in her butt

Oh God I got ninja'd by this?!?

EDIT: Whoa, timestamp is way off. Ignore this useless post. Although that box/sub is stupid overpriced. Sealed? Really?
