vans113 Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 Alright guys heres my setup my head unit is a kenwood kdc-138 I have two 10 inch kicker compvr's bridged at 4 ohms on a 1000 watt sony explode amp, and here's my issue. I'm not sure weather this could be a ground loop issue or something to do with my rca's but I have a constant humming from my subs and it never stops... EVER sometime If I shut my glove box etc I can hear it though my subs. I'm running 6 gauge power, and ground also, and yes they are on separate sides of the car. I have tried electrical taping up my power and ground, and my rca wires at the amp, and that did don't help one bit. I can post pictures of anything If anybody needs to see anything, and any help is appreciated. Thanks for reading =D
varietyguy Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 It's a ground loop. Where is your amp grounded. Just to clarify, you have your rca's ran on the opposite side as the power wire? What vehicle is it in? Redo amp ground, scrape paint away for solid ground. check rca's might have to get better ones. vans113 Posted February 23, 2012 Author Report Posted February 23, 2012 Yes it is ran on the opposite side from the power wire, and its in a 2004 chevy caviler, I have it grounded to the top of the strut tower currently with all the paint scraped away, and I have unplugged the rcas out of the amp and there is no noise, wouldn't that cancel it out being a ground loop issue?

vans113 Posted February 23, 2012 Author Report Posted February 23, 2012 I could try the amp thing, and schoce or however you spell it from walmart? and the head unit is grounded all though the stock wiring just with the after market adapter

I'm gonna pull out the headunit and see about the ground on it maybe add another ground fr it. I'll keep you guys posted again thanks for all the help!
